More snow?

It's TGIF day again for many of you.
What a messy night it was. We got more snow, and the forecast predicts even more next week. I can't stand it. When is spring coming? The sun is getting so much warmer, and the days are getting longer. Moms eyes and nose are drooling again, she calls it a cold. Other than that life is good.
Last time I left off with "the baby", oh what a joy that was.....
June 2005 was great,I discovered a new room in the house
called refrigerator. Mom left the door open and I checked it out.
I never knew mom had such a wonderful stash of stuff in that cold room. I gained more weight, and was 5.8 lbs., a remarkable achievement for me.

In July I learned catching flies, and almost fell off the windowsill, but I hung on by my nails until mom caught me.

Two things happened that month that changed my life tremendously. We lost Grandpa Benjamin, he left us to go to the rainbow bridge to be with BooBoo. He was 16 years old. He was wonderful to me, and he was the king here. It made me really sad, and I couldn't eat for a couple of days. So, once again I crawled into my bed and mourned the loss of a family member. It was so distressing that I had to go back to the Hospital, because I needed to be detoxed. Well, that what mom calls it. The toxins build up in my body, and I get really sick. It's the start for another episode, so mom takes me to the ICU and the doctors give me medicine to get rid of the toxins really fast so I won't have a seizure. I only had to stay one day though, and I got to go home, but the nice Vet increased my Lactulose to 6 cc/day.
The other thing that happened was that mommy got a new baby. Seems another baby got lost, or separated from his mommy.

That was one fresh little baby, he was only 3 weeks old, but already spit (what baby cats do before they can hiss) and tried to growl at everyone, including mommy. He was one funny looking baby. Short and fat, he could hardly walk, and was a handful, even for mom. On the first day here he sat in his bowl, instead of his bed- he had absolutely no manners whatsoever. Just look at him! But he was born with a toy build in, the tip of his tail was all white. We teased him a lot about that. Mom called him Wiener, and when he was bad, Mr. Wiener, in a stern voice. I swear I never seen a kitty with a tail as long as his. When he was finally old enough to be out, I started teaching him proper kitty behavior. Wiener grew fast, and we all had a time teaching him proper manners, but eventually he learned to behave.
Just look at the face he's making there on the left.

On the right you see me chasing him up the scratching post. That was so much fun for me. Well, he had to learn it somehow. We all tried to show him how it's done, but he just didn't get it, until I scared him enough to want to get away from me. It worked didn't it. He is up on the pole!

Here he is trying to get the better of me, little did he know that I have been around for a while, and know just how to handle little brats like him. It seemed to be his favorite pass time to jump on each and everyone of us. Seeing how he couldn't hurt us, we just let him go at it. He tried so hart, but in the end he just couldn't get anyone to say "uncle", much to his dismay. He finally found other things to do, besides annoying us with his silly games.

This is a picture of him behaving like a silly boy. He still liked chasing the white tip of his own tail, and that time he actually bit his own tail. It was very funny to see him wincing in his foolishness of not knowing it was his own tail he bit this time.
Life was grand for all of us, watching him being silly, teaching him proper cat behavior, and getting along with everyone in the house. He loved mommy and we all came to love him too. He was so much fun to play with, and he had a great sense of humor, and never took it personally when we laughed at one of his silly things he did. He was a good sport. Wiener grew really big, and when he got adopted eventually was a fine member of the feline species. Full of love and fun, with manners even a cat mommy could be proud of. Before he left though, mommy got another baby that was not as lucky as he was. His name was Drew, and he had so many physical problems. Despite of that, he had a loving heart and strong spirit. He was a cuddler from day one, as he hugged mom around the neck in order to give kisses where ever he could. He was such a sweet boy and had such a long road of recovery ahead of him. Just look at that little tot. An eye infection had robbed him of the sight
in one eye, and the Vet though he couldn't see anything in his other eye either, but mom told them all. He could see! He could find and play with his toys, he could run around without bumping into anything, so he must be able to see mom reasoned.
The poor little lamb also had other problems with his knee caps located at the side instead in front. Luckily the Vet was able to fix that for him, and he could finally walk right, just like the rest of us.
Once that was done, there was no stopping him- he just ran, and ran. Drew stayed with mom for some time, as he needed two surgeries on his eyes, and his recovery time from the knee surgery took a while. He was such a trouper through all this. Hat's off to this tiny baby who underwent so much surgery, after being abandoned, left for dead in a parking lot. He showed them what tough stuff he was made off. Sadly, as of this date, no one has come to give him that forever home, and he still waits for that special mom and dad to come. He has so much love to give, still hugging and smooching away. He now lives in another foster home.
