The Rain is over, finally!

It finally stopped raining. I heard the weather is going to get better, at last.
Mom was able to put the pictures back, so today we will have more to share.Last update of my life ended in September 2006 if not mistaken. So I'll pick up from there.

October 2006
We got a new Baby, only 10 weeks old. Mom called her Angel. She was the sweetest little girl, but very sick when she arrived. She had to be isolated at first so no one else, especially I would not catch what she had. This picture shows Angel after she got better, out playing, having a great time. Just look how happy she was, rolling
around on the floor, feeling so much better.
She stayed with us only for a short while, as her sweet personality was hard to resist. A very nice family came to take her home to be with their kitty who was lonely for company. So Alfie and Angel live happily ever after. We are always happy when someone adopts one of our babies into a forever home.

More babies. Oh my, some very tiny ones, just one week old. Two tiny girls came first, then the third, a Siamese boy. Since they were so small, their chances of survival at this time was in question, Mom called them, Baby A,B, and C. Sadly one of the little girls didn't make it. We don't always know why some of these very small ones make it or not.So only Baby A, and C, later names Bonnie (for Baby B) and Clyde, survived.
They turned out to be a sick little pair. Mom bottle fed them around the clock, every hour, then every two. It was hard for all of us. Mom put all of us in quarantine, just in case. It was a good thing, as things got worse. These pictures were taken in November, but Bonnie and Clyde now 4 and 5 weeks old, still looked like infants. They ate pretty good, but not much at the time. They were precious to all of us. If it hadn't been for all the help from Mom's friends, Mom would have never gotten any sleep.

In November another baby came, lil' Bear, he was the cutest little baby, but after just one week, he left us. Mom wrote a poem for him in honor of his struggle. He was just 5 weeks old. He was a very sick little baby, and despite all efforts it was the second baby we lost in a very short time.
Mom decided it was time for a "lock down" , total quarantine from outside too. We were still locked up in the "nursery", that is Nicky, Buddy, Ritz and Carlton, and I was even more quarantined in my cage. Mom got a very strong antiviral cleaner. She wore gloves all the time to keep all of us save from catching whatever took lil'Bear from us. She also had to worry about the tiniest babies here, Bonnie and Clyde, who just got better from the parasites they had. Those two managed to survive thus far and Mom didn't want to take any more chances. They started to thrive, and started looking more like kittens than infants.

Bonnie and Clyde became brother and sister by default, and loved each other very much. Clyde washed Bonnie, and she washed him. They did everything together, eat, sleep and play.
After
a few weeks of doing really well, Clyde got very sick, and the vet diagnosed him with Distemper.
No one thought that he would live.
Mom stood vigil over him for days, giving him medicine, taking his temperature, fluids, and tried to get him to eat a little. Bonnie had to be separated from him. She cried for him from the back room, but he was too sick to respond. Mom just held him all the time. In a matter of 4 days his fever broke- who would have believed it. He now returned Bonnie's cries, and soon they could be reunited again. The picture above where he has one front leg over Bonnie was taken days after their reunion. They were inseparable.
I was up to my old stuff, playing and trying to stay warm.

My favorite spot, next to the heater is this fuzzy tube Mom got for us. It's not just fun to play in, but also gives me a great place to huddle. I also like to ravage my toy basket, as you can see in the other picture. I used to dump it out, and spread all my balls all over the house. Needless to say, Mom did not aprove of that, as she kept stepping on all my toys. My condition was under control, the babies were doing good, and by December life in our house was pretty much back to normal. I sure live in an exciting houshold, never a dull moment here. Whether babies are here, or I am up to mischief, we keep Mom hopping. We were gearing up for the holidays, and though no one was sick, we were busy with Christmas preparations. Bonnie and Clyde were growing, and just before Christmas they too found a forever home. Now I had my Mom all to myself again-yahoo. I don't mind too much sharing, but babies do take a lot of Moms time.
